Every business has a beginning and Tripwizard is no different. Some start with a big plan, some with a clear goal. Ours didn’t start with a big plan or a perfect strategy. It started very simply, with a love for travel and the mountains.
If you’ve ever been to places like Sikkim, Darjeeling, or Bhutan, you’ll understand this. These aren’t just destinations you visit and leave. They stay with you. The people, the pace, the small details- everything feels different.
That’s where Tripwizard really began.
How It All Started
Tripwizard started as a small idea, not a company. In the early days, it was just about taking small groups on trips, just simple cycling tours around Bangalore. No big setup, no systems, no large team. Just a few people, a plan, and the intention to give them a good experience.
But those small trips taught us something important. People don’t just want to “travel.” They want things to be smooth. They want clear communication. They want someone reliable handling things behind the scenes so they can just enjoy the journey.
That understanding stayed with us.
Over time, what started as a side project slowly grew into something more serious. The decision to move to Siliguri changed everything. Being closer to the Northeast meant being closer to the destinations we truly understood- Sikkim, Darjeeling, Northeast and Bhutan. And that’s when Tripwizard started taking real shape.
How Things Grew Slowly
We didn’t grow overnight. And honestly, we didn’t try to. In the beginning, it was about doing a few trips properly. Then a few more. Then building trust with the right people. As we worked with more travellers and partners, one thing became very clear.
Tour operators often sell destinations like Sikkim or Bhutan, but managing everything from far away is not easy. Permits, vehicles, hotels, local coordination and even small issues can quickly turn into big problems.
That’s where we found our role. Instead of only focusing on direct travellers, we started working closely with travel operators and partners, helping them manage everything on the ground. That’s how Tripwizard evolved into a B2B Destination Management Company (DMC).
What We Actually Do
If we had to explain it simply- “ we act as your on-ground team”
If your client is travelling to Sikkim, Darjeeling, Bhutan, or Northeast India, you don’t have to worry about what happens after the booking.
We take care of it.
That includes:
- Planning the itinerary
- Booking hotels and homestays
- Arranging vehicles and drivers
- Handling permits and documentation
- Managing on-ground support during the trip
Our role is simple- you take care of your client relationship, and we make sure everything on the ground runs smoothly. We also work on a white-label basis, so everything happens under your brand. Your client sees you, and we quietly make sure everything works behind the scenes.
How We Work
There are many travel companies. But the difference is usually in how things are handled day to day. We try to keep things simple.
We don’t overpromise.
If something is not possible, we say it clearly.
We stay flexible.
Every client is different. Some want budget trips, some want premium, some want very specific experiences. We plan accordingly.
We focus on execution.
A good itinerary on paper means nothing if the trip doesn’t go smoothly. So we pay attention to small things such as timings, coordination, driver quality, hotel choices — everything.
We rely on local knowledge.
Being based in Siliguri, we’re closely connected to what’s actually happening on the ground i.e. weather, routes, conditions etc. That helps us avoid problems before they happen, and even if something unexpected comes up, we’re around to sort it out and keep things moving.
What We Handle Today
Today, we provide complete ground handling across:
- Sikkim
- Darjeeling
- Bhutan
- Northeast India
Here’s what that includes:
Transport
Reliable vehicles and experienced drivers who understand mountain travel.
Stays
From hotels to boutique properties and homestays, all are selected based on what actually suits the client.
Permits
All required permits and documentation handled properly, especially for restricted areas.
Local Support
On-ground coordination so that someone is always there if needed.
Custom Trips
Be it family trips, group tours, corporate travel, or special requirements, everything is planned based on actual needs.
How We Plan to Grow
We’re still growing, but our approach hasn’t changed. We’re not trying to do everything. We’re focused on doing what we do properly.
Our goal is to build long-term relationships with travel partners who want a reliable team on the ground.
We also believe that travel in places like the Northeast and Bhutan should be handled responsibly. These are not just tourist spots but they are sensitive regions with strong local cultures. Respecting that is important to us.
What Tripwizard Stands For
If we had to put it simply, Tripwizard is the result of small steps taken over time. Built through consistent on-ground experience, learning, and daily execution.
We are still growing and refining our processes, but our approach remains the same — clear communication, reliable coordination, and attention to detail in every trip we handle for our partners.
